Freedom

A wave of Harrison Bergeron
Quote: Remember, in the wave you are all equals no one is more important or more popular than anyone else. The Wave, Ben Ross, Page 66
this reminds me of the dreadful world of Harrison Bergeron because in that world everyone is equal. But there was a difference in Harrison Bergeron in that story Harrison is a good guy in this story. The Wave the teacher is an evil version of Harrison. For instance the teacher Bill is trying to start another group like the nazis. In Harrison Bergeron  he wants to change everything but in the Wave the teacher Bill wants to make a group better and smarter than the nazis.

When the darkness has fallen down And the times are tough alright The sound of evil laughter falls Around the world tonight
So far away we wait for the day For the lives all so wasted and gone We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days Through the fire and the flames we carry on!

I have chosen two more songs to display the message in the lyrics.

“When the darkness has fallen down And the times are tough alright The sound of evil laughter falls Around the world tonight”
This statement means that the bad groups like the wave and the nazis are enjoying the time they have.the time that they had on top of what they wanted to accomplish but it came crumbling down.

So far away we wait for the day For the lives all so wasted and gone We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days Through the fire and the flames we carry on”
This to me means that the people will not give up easily I mean they won’t give up without a fight they will fight for their rights.

“Yourself by the fire, son, And the morning will come soon. I'll tell you stories of better time, In a place that we once knew. Before we packed our bags And left all this behind us in the dust, We had a place that we could call home, And a life no one could touch. Don't hold me up now, I can stand my own ground,I don't need your help now, You wont let me down, down, down! We are the angry and the desperate, The hungry, and the cold, We are the ones who kept quiet, And always did what we were told.”

To me, this big chunk of lyrics refers to the lives of the Jews that were horrible during the WW2 they did what they were told without any objection but the beginning of the song he is obviously talking to a kid.

Warm yourself by the fire, son,
And the morning will come soon.
I'll tell you stories of a better time,
In a place that we once knew.

Before we packed our bags
And left all this behind us in the dust,
We had a place that we could call home,
And a life no one could touch.

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You won´t let me down, down, down!

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You won´t let me down, down, down!

Down!

We are the angry and the desperate,
The hungry, and the cold,
We are the ones who kept quiet,
And always did what we were told.

But we've been sweating while you slept so calm,
In the safety of your home.
We've been pulling out the nails that hold up
Everything you've known
