The Resistance

I would define resistance as fighting back or going against something. Resistance can be good or bad, good like the ones that happened in the ghettos but bad if it’s hurting a mass population like the Nazis resistance to the Treaty of Versailles. When the Nazis broke the treaty they hurt others by taking over their land, and if you were Jewish they would hurt you more and more as the years went on, finally killing the Jews. Jews and non-Jews resisted the Nazis by attacking them like the Partisans. The Partisans were a group of people that would literally fight back and kill Nazis. They had 374,000 in 1944 and that was the peak of the groups.  There were groups of Partisans wherever the Nazis had taken over. It had Jews and non-Jews in the group. They lived in the forest and had to abandon their families to join the Partisans. I think that what the did was very noble and should be recognized publicly. They risked everything they had and their lives just to fight back against the Nazis, so I really find that heroic.

  3. I agree with you Austin about how the Partisans, Jews, and Non-Jews resisted the Nazi. I also like how you added a statistic about 374,000 in 1944 for the partisans.
