U.S. Related to Holocaust

Write about your feelings toward your country and its role in the Holocaust.  As you respond, consider what you see as the U.S.’s role in current world conflicts.

I think that our country’s role wasn't a big deal
like we weren't involved as we should have been. We could have had a bigger impact on helping the victims of the Holocaust but we entered the war. When the U.S.  entered WWII, the  Great Depression ended and we started making money by working in factories and making tanks and ships for the war. We have a big role in current conflicts because I see things all the time on the news and many people from our country try to help, like people in Afghanistan or Iraq. I also think sometimes that we don’t have a big impact on world conflicts because we have our own country to worry about, because these days nobody has jobs and everything is getting more expensive. “Most survey respondents -- 73 percent -- had either lost their jobs or knew somebody who had. More than half said they have less money than they did before the recession, and 61 percent believe they will never fully recover.” To conclude I think the U.S. did not play a big part because they were busy fighting our own war.
