- In her diary, Anne Frank wrote that she believed “most people are good.” Do you agree with Anne? If so, why, and if not, why not? (Echoes and Reflections)
I agree with Anne Frank that most people are good because some people did save, hide, and rescued(click here to find out more) Jews. All the people who helped the Jews were peasants and nannies, aristocracy and clergy, bakers and doctors, social workers and storekeepers, school children and police officers, diplomats and grandparents. In the movie The Pianist a Nazi saved a Jew. There would have been more good people during the Holocaust but if they saved a Jew and the German Nazis found out, then more likely the person who saved the Jew and the Jew would be killed and the whole family would too. It took all the rescuers a lot of guts to help the Jews even if it also meant losing their life. In my opinion I think the Jews were saved because they were really close to those rescuers or they were good people. Some Jews were in relationships with some non Jews and those people would help the Jew. I think these rescuers should be respected for what they did. Even some Germans would help the Jew’s because some Germans were against Hitler and the Nazi Party. Most Jews at times would help their fellow Jews at tough times or when needed. Anne Frank was right about most people being good because of how people sacrificed their lives for Jews.
