"Fear"

“What are you scared of?” David asked. “You think Mr. Ross is gonna punish me because I told a couple of people about The Wave?” - David Pg. 50 The Wave
This means that he isn't showing responsibility because he is taking The Wave for granted and it doesn't matter if he tells a couple of people. This tells me how David didn't fear Ben Ross as much as the other kids so he told some of his friends about it. The Wave was probably hard to keep secret because the kids probably wanted more people in on the experience, they also probably thought that if they would tell people about it they would get in trouble. I think that the kids should have told anyone they wanted, but they didn't because they are just too scared to tell because they think about what Hitler did to the Jews and they think that Ben Ross will do that to them if they tell. Fear is probably one of the most important reasons that they stayed in the group. I think most of the kids in The Wave were very scared of what Ben Ross would do to them because they probably thought he would be a different person because he had power. What do you think would happen if the kids in The Wave told people that were not in The Wave About it?
This quote shows the theme of Fear. The Wave is like the Holocaust because most of the people that were kept by the Nazis were to scared to try and get out. They feared the Nazis and Hitler. When someone would break the law like walking on the sidewalk in the Holocaust They could be shot or get injured because they wanted them to follow the law. Hitler only wanted the that could do whatever he told them to. This Brings me back to the Jewish Police because they were the Jews that would keep the world as it is because they would tell the Nazis is something bad happened. The Jewish police did this because they were scared of Hitler.I wouldn't blame them for being scared because Hitler and the Nazis were scary.Hitler was scary to the Jews because they didn't want to get hurt, Hitler had all the power and no one could have stopped him from what he was doing.
