Helping of Jews

Reflect on the meaning of the statement from the Talmud.  “He who saves one life, It Is as though he has preserved the existence of the entire world.”

I think that this quote means that doing a little help like saving one man is a huge deal like saving the world. I agree with this quote if everyone helps save a single life then we could save the world, losing a life is a big deal, it means tragedy for a family maybe not yours but others. I can relate this to the Holocaust because people would hide their Jewish friends and save their life so that they could continue their life normally. One of the most famous examples hiding was Anne Frank who hid in the Netherlands by Miep Gies. Eventually, Anne was caught and killed but left a remarkable diary of her journey. Since some people helped save Jews it was like they saved their country from being controlled and soon taking over more lives. In The Pianist, the German Nazi brings food to Wladyslaw in order to save him. This refers back to the quote because the Nazi saved one man which is like he saved the entire world. What do you think this quote means to you?
